Presentation by Yiannis Kafouros
His life: Kiko Urrusti was born in Oviedo, the capital city of the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain. In 1994, after finishing his high school career, he began his technical and artistic training in the workshop of his grandfather and father, Rafael and Antonio sculptors Urrusti – studies combining with welding, boiler and metal processing in school Mancheño soldering, forming there for three years and involved since then in all Urrusti workshop sculptural projects.
His work: All his work is made of iron, varying in their terminations whether, natural or patina (rust, black, etc.) or directly with paintings. Between expressionism and constructivism he most like, Kiko also produce some realistic series – the technique he use is electric welding.
